Some folks on the Adventure Rider Forum had been talking about a ride to the Coke Ovens. I had been twice before. Both times the group I was riding with went the back way across the Gila River. This is the easiest way when the water is low. I decided to see if the recent rains we experienced had caused the river to be uncrossable.
The way I go from Tucson is up up Willow Springs Rd to Barkerville Rd to Florence-Kelvin Rd to Cochran Rd to the no-name wash about 2 miles north of Donnely Wash.
